November 2007 - Kindergarten and 1st Grade

Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1
Cor. 15:57. As we begin the month of November, we are talking about the
people of Israel, and how God gave them the victory over the city of
Jericho. Just as God gave the people of Israel protection, we also have that
same protection against sin and temptation. Thanks be to God!

During Science we talked about our bodies that are wonderful
gifts from God. It was especially fun to listen to our hearts and dance to
the bone Macarena. We also talked about the importance of eating
correctly, exercise and rest. As good stewards, we need to take good care
of our bodies.

We are excited about being able to participate in the
Walk-a-thon that the school is having. By sponsoring a student you can
help support the ministry here at Good Shepherd Lutheran School. We are
going to be having fun during the event.

Thanksgiving will soon be here and we have many blessings for
which to be thankful. We are thankful for our families and friends. We are
also thankful for our school family and the people that make it all
possible.

Blessings to you all.

October 2007 - Kindergarten and 1st Grade

Greetings from Mrs. Brase,

The 2007-2008 school year has started with an excited, busy and diverse Kindergarten classroom.

We are happy to welcome nine new kindergarten students.

During Jesus Time, we are talking about new beginnings - the beginning of a new school year, new friendships, new learning adventures, but most of all the beginning of the world. We learned how God not only created us, but also continues to provide for us on a daily basis. We have also talked about God's promises to us. The most important promise was that he would send us a Savior and now we can live with him in heaven.

The First graders are reviewing the alphabet and continuing to read. They are becoming much more independent already. The Kindergartners are getting used to the routine and hopefully enjoying the process. We are really excited to begin a new school year with so many classmates. We pray for the Lord's blessings on this new school year.
