May 2008 - 2nd, 3rd, 4th Grades

2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders are finishing up on all of their assignments for the year. We visited KEYC-TV to learn more about the weather that we are studying in Science. The weatherman, Mitch Keegan helped us understand how things get ready for the television news report.

Laura Adams and Keaton Dimock each received a book from the Rotory Club. Both were very excited to get their own book.

Temperatures averaging in the 100's was typical from the letters that the children received from Natalie Garman, who is stationed in Qatar. The class wrote her letters asking what it was like there and she in return, answered each one with a small note and picture that she had drawn. Natalie, is my daughter-in-law and will be coming home to Alabama on Mother's Day.

May baskets were hand delivered to the residents in North Point on May Day. Some invited us in their home to wish us a good day too.

Chickens are hatching in our room as of the first of May. The children enjoy watching the birth of one of God's creatures and know that we have to take care of them too. They will go to a good home after a day or two of getting their feathers dried off.

Our class knows that prayers are answered, as we prayed very hard on a Tuesday for the return of my granddaughter's health. She was in very serious danger in the ICU Children's Hospital, but by Wednesday afternoon, she had made great progress and was moved to the children's wing. We thanked God for her speedy release. By Friday she was scheduled to go home. Many of the children have met her as she is only 10 years old. Thank you for all of the prayers that were said, God truly does work miracles. Have a blessed and wonderful summer vacation.
